of <h1>Finance Bill 2021 amends Benami Property Act: omits sections, revises Adjudicating Authority, extends order deadline to Sept 2021.</h1> Amendments to the Prohibition of Benami Property Transactions Act, 1988, proposed in the Finance Bill, 2021, include the omission of clauses (b) and (c) from sub-section (2) of section 68. The definition of 'Adjudicating Authority' in section 2 is revised, and section 7 is amended to designate the Competent Authority under the Smugglers and Foreign Exchange Manipulators Act, 1976, as the Adjudicating Authority. Sections 8 to 17 are omitted, and sub-section (7) of section 26 is amended to extend the order deadline to 30th September 2021. These changes are effective from 1st July 2021.
