<h1>Regulation 7J Voids Agreements Blocking Securities Law Violation Reporting to SEBI; Protects Whistleblower Communications.</h1> Regulation 7J of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Prohibition of Insider Trading) Regulations, 2015, renders any agreement or Code of Conduct void if it prevents individuals, except advocates, from reporting securities law violations to the Board. It prohibits actions or threats that impede communication with the Board, including enforcing confidentiality agreements unrelated to legal representation. Additionally, employers cannot require employees to notify them of any Voluntary Information Disclosure Form filed with the Board or seek permission before or after such filing. This regulation was inserted by a notification effective 100 days from September 17, 2019.
