<h1>Regulation 22D mandates contributions to Settlement Guarantee Fund by clearing corporations and members, ensuring financial stability.</h1> Regulation 22D of the Securities Contracts (Regulation) (Stock Exchanges and Clearing Corporations) Regulations, 2018 mandates contributions to the Settlement Guarantee Fund by recognized limited purpose clearing corporations, clearing members, participants, and issuers of debt securities. The contributions must be made as specified by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI). In case of any shortfall, the clearing corporation is responsible for replenishing the Fund to the threshold level set by SEBI. Amendments to this regulation were introduced in notifications dated October 8, 2020, and July 24, 2023.
