of <h1>Independent directors databank Rules 2019: phased commencement dates set; Rules 2 and 5 effective immediately on publication.</h1> The Companies (Creation and Maintenance of databank of Independent Directors) Rules, 2019 prescribe the short title of the Rules and specify their commencement dates. Rules other than rule 2 and rule 5 come into force on 1 December 2019, thereby deferring the operative application of the remaining provisions until that date. Rule 2 and rule 5 come into force on the date of publication in the Official Gazette, thereby making those provisions immediately operative from the publication date.
