Foreign investment in LLPs permitted under automatic route subject to valuation norms, transfer price limits and remittance rules. Foreign investment in an LLP is allowed where the sector permits up to full foreign ownership under the automatic route and no FDI-linked performance conditions apply; qualifying non-residents and foreign entities (excluding certain nationals/entities and excluding FPIs/FVCIs) may contribute capital, and eligible companies or LLPs may convert between forms under the automatic route subject to the Limited Liability Partnership Act, 2008. Investments and transfers, including profit share reinvestment, must be at or reflect the fair price per internationally accepted valuation norms with an issued valuation certificate; resident/non-resident transfers must meet price constraints and remittance modalities are specified by the monetary authority.
