of <h1>NRIs and OCIs can invest unlimited in Indian equity, mutual funds, LLP capital, and startup notes on non-repatriation basis</h1> Non-Resident Indians and Overseas Citizens of India may invest in Indian equity instruments, mutual fund units, Limited Liability Partnership capital, and startup convertible notes on a non-repatriation basis without limits. Such investments are treated as domestic investments equivalent to resident investments. Investments are prohibited in Nidhi companies, agricultural/plantation activities, real estate business, construction of farm houses, and transfer of development rights. Investment in firms or proprietary concerns is permitted except those engaged in agriculture, plantation, print media, or real estate. Payment modes and remittance conditions are specified by the Reserve Bank.
