of <h1>Aadhaar Act Section 57 Omitted: Limits Use of Aadhaar Numbers to Original Purposes Only After 2019 Amendment.</h1> Section 57 of the Aadhaar Act, 2016 initially allowed the use of Aadhaar numbers to establish identity for any purpose by the State, corporate bodies, or individuals, as permitted by law or contract. This provision was subject to compliance with procedures and obligations outlined in Section 8 and Chapter VI of the Act. However, this section was omitted by the Aadhaar and Other Laws (Amendment) Act, 2019, removing the provision that allowed Aadhaar numbers to be used for purposes beyond those originally intended by the Act.
