Nothing in the Act barred use of the Aadhaar number to establish an individual's identity for any purpose; the provision allowed the State, any body corporate, or any person to use Aadhaar for identity verification pursuant to law or contract, subject to the procedural safeguards and obligations specified elsewhere in the statute.
