Restriction on sharing information: core biometric data cannot be shared and identity data use is tightly limited. Prohibition on sharing core biometric information is absolute: core biometric information collected or created under the Act cannot be shared and may be used only for generation of Aadhaar numbers and authentication. Non-biometric identity information may be shared only as provided by the Act and specified by regulation, and use or disclosure by requesting or offline verification entities is restricted to purposes communicated in writing to the individual in clear and precise language. Publication or public display of Aadhaar number, demographic information, or photograph is prohibited except as permitted by regulation.
