Unique Identification Authority establishes central agency for enrolment and authentication and may create offices nationwide. The statute establishes a Unique Identification Authority by Central Government notification to perform enrolment and authentication and other assigned functions; it is a body corporate with perpetual succession and a common seal, may acquire and dispose of property, contract, and sue or be sued, has its head office in New Delhi, and may, with prior Central Government approval, establish offices elsewhere in India.
