Rectification of mistakes: postal officials may correct clerical or arithmetical errors in savings certificates if no financial loss results. Postal administrative officials may, either suo motu or on application by an interested person, rectify clerical and arithmetical mistakes in individual National Savings Certificates, provided such rectification does not cause financial loss to the Government or to any interested person.
