Payment in lieu of attachment permits deposit of property's fair value with court approval, subject to possible costs. A deposit taker, person treated as a deposit taker, or a transferee facing imminent or provisional attachment may, before confirmation of attachment, apply to the Designated Court to deposit the fair value of the property in lieu of attachment; the Designated Court may require payment of applicable costs when allowing such a deposit.
