<h1>Portfolio Managers Must Have Written Agreements with Clients Under Regulation 14 of SEBI (Portfolio Managers) Regulations, 1993</h1> Regulation 14 of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Portfolio Managers) Regulations, 1993, mandates that portfolio managers must enter into a written agreement with clients before managing their funds or securities. This agreement should outline mutual rights, liabilities, and obligations, including investment objectives, restrictions, risks, fees, and terms of the contract. Portfolio managers must also provide a Disclosure Document with detailed information about fees, portfolio risks, related party transactions, and past performance. Fees charged should not guarantee returns and must be disclosed to clients. The Disclosure Document must be certified by an independent chartered accountant and filed with SEBI.
