Sponsor eligibility failures may lead to rejection of mutual fund registration applications by the regulatory board, with notice to applicant. Where a mutual fund sponsor fails to meet the eligibility criteria under regulation 7 or regulation 81, the Board may reject the registration application and must inform the applicant; regulation 81 was inserted by notification and took effect on the ninetieth day after its Gazette publication.
