of <h1>Investor Protection Fund to Finance Education, Restitution, Informant Rewards, Ombudsman and Committee Expenses; Seven-Year Claim Bar</h1> The Fund is to be used for investor protection and promotion of investor education and awareness, including seminars, training, research, publications, media campaigns, funding recognized investors' associations and aiding them in legal proceedings, refunding certain security deposits, travel expenses for non-official Committee members, expenses of the Ombudsman's office, rewards to informants under Board guidelines, and other purposes the Board specifies. Amounts disgorged and credited for restitution or informant rewards must be used for those purposes; certain credited amounts may be refunded to transferring entities after they compensate eligible investors. Residual earmarked monies may be applied to the Fund's general purposes; claims for restitution are barred after seven years from claim invitation.
