SEBI rules require advisers to use the term investment adviser and transition to non-individual registration after thresholds are met. The certificate for investment advisers is subject to compliance with the Act and regulations, immediate written notification to the Board of materially false or changed information, mandatory use of the term investment adviser (or part-time investment adviser for part-timers) in names and correspondence, and transition requirements for individuals exceeding 300 clients or receiving fees over three crore rupees: notify the Administration and Supervisory Body, apply for three-month in-principle approval for non-individual registration within three months, surrender individual registration upon completion, and note that during transition onboarding and fee collection beyond the threshold is permitted; part-time advisers are capped at seventy-five clients.
