<h1>SEBI Regulation 7 sets minimum education, NISM certification and renewal rules for investment advisers and advisory personnel</h1> Regulation 7 of the SEBI (Investment Advisers) Regulations 2013 prescribes that individual investment advisers, principal officers of non-individual advisers, and persons associated with investment advice must, at all times, hold at least a graduate degree or equivalent from a recognized domestic or foreign institution or a CFA Charter, along with relevant NISM-accredited certification, or have completed specified NISM postgraduate programs. Existing registered advisers must meet updated qualification and experience standards within timelines set by the Board, subject to specified exemptions for certain existing individual advisers. All such persons, including partners in advisory partnerships who provide advice, must periodically obtain fresh, relevant NISM certification within prescribed validity periods.
