Amendments to Section 31 empower the Board to set terms for proceedings settlement and address regulatory matters.
Section 31 of the Securities Contracts (Regulation) Act, 1956, as amended by the Securities Laws (Amendment) Act, 2014, now includes additional clauses. Clause (c) specifies that the Board will determine the terms for the settlement of proceedings under section 23JA(2). Clause (d) allows for any other matters required or permitted to be specified by regulations or for which provision must be made by regulations. These amendments expand the regulatory framework and authority of the Board in managing securities contracts.
