<h1>Amendment to Section 23D of the Securities Contracts Act: Penalty Range Now 1 Lakh to 1 Crore Rupees.</h1> Section 23D of the Securities Contracts (Regulation) Act, 1956, has been amended by the Securities Laws (Amendment) Act, 2014. The amendment changes the penalty provision from a maximum of one crore rupees to a range where the penalty shall not be less than one lakh rupees and may extend up to one crore rupees.
