of <h1>Section 23A Amended: Penalties Revised to Minimum 1 Lakh, Daily 1 Lakh, Capped at 1 Crore.</h1> Section 23A of the Securities Contracts (Regulation) Act, 1956, has been amended by the Securities Laws (Amendment) Act, 2014. The amendment modifies the penalty clauses (a) and (b), replacing the previous wording with a new structure. The penalty now starts at a minimum of one lakh rupees and may extend to one lakh rupees for each day the failure continues, with a cap at one crore rupees.
