of <h1>Amendment to Section 15H of SEBI Act: Penalty Range Revised for Violations, Minimum Set at Ten Lakh Rupees.</h1> Section 15H of the Securities and Exchange Board of India Act, 1992, as amended by the Securities Laws (Amendment) Act, 2014, modifies the penalty for certain violations. The amendment changes the penalty from a fixed amount of twenty-five crore rupees or three times the profits made from the violation, whichever is higher, to a range that starts at a minimum of ten lakh rupees and can extend to twenty-five crore rupees or three times the profits made, whichever is higher.
