of <h1>Amendments to SEBI Act: Section 11C Updated to Include Designated Courts in Mumbai and New Subsection 8A Added</h1> Section 11C of the Securities and Exchange Board of India Act, 1992, was amended by the Securities Laws (Amendment) Act, 2014. The amendments include replacing references to 'the Judicial Magistrate of the first class having jurisdiction' with 'the Magistrate or Judge of such designated court in Mumbai, as may be notified by the Central Government.' A new sub-section (8A) was added, allowing authorized officers to requisition assistance from police or Central Government officers. Additionally, references to 'the Magistrate' in sub-sections (9) and (10) were changed to include 'the Magistrate or Judge of the Designated Court.'
