Election of office bearers must follow the prescribed election schedule; candidate eligibility is governed by the Act's eligibility provisions. Under Rule 20 of the Multi State Cooperative Societies Rules, 2002 the election of the office bearers of the board must be conducted as per the programme given in the election schedule, and the eligibility of candidates for those office bearer elections is subject to the eligibility provisions contained in the Act.
