Dress code for authorised representatives: professional black attire required, with a permitted summer coat exemption. Authorised representatives who are not relatives or regular employees must appear in professional dress, or if none, males must wear a black coat with white shirt and black tie and females a black coat over a white sari or other white dress. A summer exception allows omission of the black coat during the specified season. The definition of regular employee excludes Customs or Central Excise Department employees appointed as authorised representatives under the relevant sub rule.
