of <h1>Arrest formality u/s212(8): designated directors must serve signed arrest order and personal search memo and obtain written acknowledgement</h1> Rule prescribes that an officer designated as Director, Additional Director or Assistant Director, when exercising powers under sub-section (8) of section 212, must sign an arrest order together with a personal search memo in the prescribed Form and serve both documents on the arrestee and obtain written acknowledgement of service; the operative effect is to impose a mandatory procedural requirement for use of the specified Form, personal service of the arrest order and search memo on the arrestee, and collection of written acknowledgement as a condition of effecting such arrests.
