of <h1>Central Government can now prescribe an identification number as DIN under amended Section 153, altering compliance requirements.</h1> Section 153 of the principal Act is amended to include a proviso allowing the Central Government to prescribe an identification number to be treated as a Director Identification Number (DIN) for the purposes of the Act. If an individual holds or acquires such an identification number, the requirements of this section may not apply or may apply as prescribed by the government.
