<h1>Companies (Amendment) Bill, 2017: Section 4 Update Allows Extended Name Reservation to 60 Days for Existing Companies</h1> The Companies (Amendment) Bill, 2017 modifies section 4 of the principal Act, specifically sub-section (5), clause (i). It stipulates that upon receiving an application under sub-section (4), the Registrar can reserve a company name for twenty days from the approval date, or a different prescribed period. However, for applications involving name reservation or change by an existing company, the Registrar can extend the reservation period to sixty days from the approval date.
