Commencement: the Act's provisions come into force on dates notified by the central government, allowing staggered commencement. The Act is to be cited as the Companies (Amendment) Act, 2017 and shall come into force on such date as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint; different dates may be appointed for different provisions, and references to commencement shall mean the coming into force of that provision.
