Rule 14 allows an authorised representative unable to file an executed vakalatnama immediately to file a memo of appearance with an undertaking to submit the duly executed authorisation within time the Bench may allow; the facility is discretionary and subject to Bench satisfaction. Non-compliance with the Bench's directions permits withholding or staying orders and refusal to extend the facility in future. Misrepresentations to obtain this relief constitute misconduct attracting the statute's disciplinary consequences.
