Appointment of officers under GST: government notification establishes classes of tax administrators and preserves VAT incumbents. The Government shall, by notification, appoint classes of officers for GST administration including Commissioner of State tax, various grades of commissioners, deputies and assistants, and any other classes as deemed fit, and officers appointed under the Maharashtra Value Added Tax Act, 2002 are deemed to be officers under this Act.
