<h1>Section 44 of Delhi VAT Act Integrates Land Revenue Recovery Powers, Overrides Conflicts with Other Laws</h1> Section 44 of the Delhi Value Added Tax Act, 2004, incorporates the provisions of the Delhi Land Reforms Act, 1954, for recovering amounts as arrears of land revenue. This section applies throughout Delhi, overriding any conflicting enactments. The Additional and Joint Commissioners of Value Added Tax hold the powers of the Deputy Commissioner under the Delhi Land Reforms Act, while the Deputy and Assistant Commissioners of Value Added Tax assume the roles of Revenue Assistant. Value Added Tax Officers and Assistant Officers are granted the authority of Tehsildar and Assistant Collector of the First Grade, respectively.
