Resignation by a Member requires written notice to Central Government and continuance until successor or term expiry.

A Member may resign by submitting a written resignation to the Central Government; unless permitted to relinquish earlier, the Member must continue to hold office until the earliest of the expiry of a three month period from receipt of notice, the date a duly appointed successor assumes office, or the expiry of the Member's term.
