<h1>Removal of company names from register u/s248(1): excluded categories, written Form STK-1 notice, 30-day reply</h1> The rule empowers the Registrar to remove a company's name from the register suo motu under section 248(1); effect: companies meeting removal criteria may be struck off. It prescribes categorical exclusions-listed companies; delisted for non-compliance; vanishing companies (defined); companies subject to inspection/investigation or pending prosecutions; those with pending notices/inquiries under specified sections; companies with pending prosecutions or compounding applications; firms with outstanding public deposits or unsatisfied charges; and section-8 companies-which cannot be removed. It mandates issuance of a written notice in Form STK-1 to all directors by registered/speed post stating reasons and inviting representations and supporting documents within 30 days.
