Payment must be made through inward remittances via normal banking channels or from non-resident accounts maintained under regulatory provisions. Payment through travellers cheques, foreign currency notes, or other unauthorized modes is prohibited. Such residents may transfer immovable property to India residents or to non-resident Indian citizens or persons of Indian origin, excluding agricultural, plantation, or farm house properties in the latter case.
