of <h1>Embassies and UN must pay GST on purchases but can claim refunds; Unique Identity Number required.</h1> Purchases made by embassies or the United Nations are subject to taxation under the Goods and Services Tax (GST). However, these entities can later claim a refund for the taxes paid. They must obtain a Unique Identity Number, and their purchases will be recorded against this number in the supplier's return of outward supplies. The process for claiming refunds will be specified in the GST rules.
