Banks Designate Electronic Focal Point Branches to Handle GST Payments; RBI Acts as E-FPB for NEFT/RTGS Transactions.
An Electronic Focal Point Branch (E-FPB) is a designated branch of an authorized bank responsible for collecting GST payments. Each authorized bank selects one branch as its E-FPB for nationwide transactions. These branches must open 38 accounts to manage GST payments, including accounts for CGST, IGST, and SGST for each State/UT government. Payments received by an E-FPB are credited to the corresponding account. For NEFT/RTGS transactions, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) acts as the E-FPB.
