          <h1>Cess renaming: Clean Energy Cess renamed Clean Environment Cess and cess rate increased by Finance Act amendment</h1> The Bill substitutes the term Clean Energy Cess with Clean Environment Cess across Chapter VII of the Finance Act, 2010 and other laws, and amends the Tenth Schedule to increase the cess rate on coal, lignite and peat to Rs.400 per tonne by replacing the entry in column (4) against the relevant headings.
