of <h1>Finance Bill 2016: Clause 120 amends Customs Act, Section 53, permits duty-free transit of certain goods under conditions.</h1> Clause 120 of the Finance Bill, 2016 proposes the substitution of section 53 in the Customs Act. This amendment allows a proper officer to permit the transit of certain goods and conveyances without the payment of duty, provided these goods are listed in the import manifest or report for transit to locations outside India or to any customs station. This transit is subject to conditions prescribed by the Board through regulations.
