Max 300 days leave encashment.</h1> Rule 4 of the Customs and Central Excise Settlement Commission Rules 2000 mandates that any individual appointed as Chairman, Vice-Chairman, or Member of the Commission must retire from their previous Central Government service before assuming their new role. Upon retirement, they are entitled to pension, gratuity, and commutation of pension as per applicable rules. They cannot carry forward earned leave but may receive cash equivalent for it. After their term, they can receive cash for earned leave, with a maximum encashment limit of 300 days, including any leave encashed at their prior retirement.
