of <h1>Companies Law: Section 88(1) Requires Index of Names in Registers, Optional for Companies with Under 50 Members.</h1> Every register maintained under section 88(1) of the Companies Law must include an index of names from the respective registers. This index should provide sufficient details to easily locate entries related to each folio. However, if a company has fewer than fifty members, maintaining an index is not mandatory. The company must update the index simultaneously with any entry for the allotment or transfer of securities in the register.
