Central Government Can Correct Register of Charges Errors via Form CHG-8 Under Section 87 of Companies Rules 2014
The Central Government can rectify omissions or misstatements in the register of charges through an application filed in Form No. CHG-8, as per section 87 of the Companies (Registration of Charges) Rules, 2014. This includes correcting details previously recorded with the Registrar regarding any charge, modification, or satisfaction of charge. Additionally, the government may extend the filing period for satisfaction of charge if not completed within 300 days from the payment date. This rule was updated in 2019, replacing previous provisions for condonation of delay and rectification procedures.
