Safeguard duty extension for imports from the People's Republic of China may continue where market disruption persists, allowing longer imposition. The amendment authorises the Central Government to extend the imposition of safeguard duty on imports from the People's Republic of China that cause or threaten market disruption to domestic industry, allowing continuation notwithstanding domestic adjustment measures and subject to a statutory outer limit from the date the safeguard was first imposed.
