<h1>Central Government may require up to 25,000 security for investigation costs under Companies Bill Clause 214. Refundable if prosecution follows.</h1> Clause 214 of the Companies Bill, 2011, allows the Central Government to require an applicant to provide security, up to twenty-five thousand rupees, for the costs and expenses of an investigation ordered under section 210 or by the Tribunal under section 213. This security is a prerequisite before appointing an inspector and is refundable if the investigation leads to prosecution.
