Default in statutory meeting compliance leads to fines for the company and responsible officers, including daily continuing penalties. Default in holding statutory meetings or complying with Tribunal directions renders the company and every officer in default liable to a fine, initially up to one lakh rupees, and for continuing defaults a further daily fine which may extend to five thousand rupees for every day the default continues.
