Interlocutory orders preserve justice by permitting appellate authorities to grant stays and other measures pending appeal. The appellate authority in an appeal under the applicable provision may, to prevent the ends of justice being defeated, make interlocutory orders it deems fit, including staying the matter pending decision of the appeal in order to preserve the effectiveness of the appellate process and maintain the status quo.
