of <h1>Procedures for Appointing or Removing Auditors Under Section 71: Special Notice and Member Notification Requirements</h1> Section 71 of the Multi-State Co-Operative Societies Act, 2002, outlines procedures for appointing or removing auditors. A special notice is required for resolutions at an annual general meeting to appoint a new auditor or not reappoint a retiring auditor. Upon receiving such notice, the society must send a copy to the retiring auditor. If the retiring auditor submits written representations, the society must notify its members, unless received too late. If not distributed, the auditor can request the representations be read at the meeting.
