Board Meeting Rules: Section 50 of the Multi-State Co-operative Societies Act, 2002, Details Convening and Presiding Procedures
Section 50 of the Multi-State Co-operative Societies Act, 2002, outlines the procedures for convening board meetings. The Chief Executive is responsible for calling meetings at the direction of the chairperson or president. If they fail to do so within a quarter, the Vice-Chairperson, Vice-President, or any board member can requisition a meeting. Meetings must occur at least quarterly, with a quorum of one-third of elected directors. If the Chairperson or President is absent, the Vice-Chairperson, Vice-President, or another chosen board member presides. The board may invite up to two additional persons to meetings.
