Trustee non-liability for payment without notice protects trustees who pay to apparent beneficiaries when vesting is unknown. When a beneficiary's interest vests in another, a trustee who, without notice of the vesting, pays or delivers trust-property to the person who would have been entitled in the absence of such vesting is not liable for the property so paid or delivered.
