Registered documents retention requires destruction of foreign company records after prescribed retention period following cessation of business. Registered documents of foreign companies that cease to have any place of business in India are to be destroyed after expiry of a three year period from cessation; the Registrar of Companies, Delhi, must give two weeks' notice to the concerned Registrar, who then destroys the documents at the same time and informs the Registrar of Companies, Delhi of the destruction.
