Document preservation: Registrar-directed written orders can require companies to retain scheduled records beyond prescribed retention periods. Rule 4 empowers the Registrar of Companies to require companies, by written order, to preserve any document listed in the Schedule beyond the retention period specified in the Schedule's corresponding entry, thereby imposing a continuing preservation obligation notwithstanding the prescribed disposal timetable.
