<h1>Manufacturers Must Notify Excise Superintendent of Imported Goods Within Two Days Under Customs Rule 1996</h1> Under the Customs (Import of Goods at Concessional Rate of Duty for Manufacture of Excisable Goods) Rules, 1996, a manufacturer benefiting from these rules must inform the Superintendent of Central Excise about the receipt of imported goods within two days of arrival, excluding holidays. The manufacturer must maintain detailed records of the quantity and value of imported goods, their consumption, re-exportation, and stock levels, and present these records upon request by the Assistant or Deputy Commissioner of Central Excise. Additionally, a quarterly return must be submitted to the relevant Commissioner by the tenth day of the following quarter.
